WALT: Use similes to describe colours.....

simile
ˈsɪmɪli/
noun
plural noun: similes
  1. 1.
a figure of speech involving the comparison of one thing with another thing of a different kind, used to make a description more emphatic or vivid (e.g. as brave as a lion ).

We used art as motivation for our writing, we discussed what similes were for and how to use them.
Here are some of the examples of our creative poetry using similes......

I see coloursAs blue as the seaAs red as the lava
As green as the seaweed
As black as oil
As white as snow
Colours rock our world!

I see Colours
As red as a flame
As blue as a river
As black as midnight
As green as grass
As yellow as the sun
Colours are art!

I see Colours
As red as the fastest hotwheel car
As black as the night sky
As yellow as sunflowers
As light green as the grass
As purple as some grapes
Colours are like a rainbow

By Hunter

I see Colours
As blue as the water
As green as a leaf
As red as a shining red car
As yellow as the sun
As white as a page
As brown as a volcano
As purple as my couch
As pink as my tongue
As grey as a computer
